Story

After running her own sustainable fashion label for almost a decade she pursued her dream to became a jewellery designer. She applied and started her studies to became goldsmith but had to leave them due to new circumstances. After being at home with the kids for 6 years, she decided to study as a milliner — and found her passion.

Materials

Many of the pieces in her collections use sustainable materials; vintage braids, ribbons and hat bases, and recycled textiles and other rescued materials. Each design is handmade using traditional millinery techniques; the bases are blocked by hand, materials dyed, every detail gently shaped. 

Ideology

Millinery is sculpture-making. Paula Kasu is dedicated to incorporating traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary context. Paula Kasu focuses on working with shape creating modern hats with unconventional designs. Fascinating silhouettes and a playful colour chart, her head accessories are displayed like small works of art that bring a refreshing joie de vivre.
